Dr. Teri McCann appointed to MAPA Board of Directors

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 26, 2019 – Fairhaven Treatment Center, a facility that offers comprehensive clinical treatment for adolescent girls and adult women struggling with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED), today announced its founder and executive clinical director, Teri McCann, Ph.D., CEDS, was appointed to the Memphis Area Psychological Association Board of Directors.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work alongside respected professionals in the mental and behavioral health community in Memphis,” said McCann. “I’m thrilled to learn from and converse in-depth with individuals who take education and professional training as seriously as I do.”
The Memphis Area Psychological Association is dedicated to advancing psychology as a science, as a profession and as a means of promoting human prosperity. The organization facilitates quarterly meetings and continuing education activities, as well as coordinates affiliations with state and other psychological associations to provide unique networking and professional development opportunities for its members.
Dr. McCann founded Fairhaven Treatment Center five years ago in Memphis, Tennessee. With her background in eating disorders and correlating mental trauma, she has been a pivotal part of the local healthcare community. Her research has been the foundation of the comprehensive treatment model by which Fairhaven was built upon and operates today.
“As a group of professionals in a variety of psychological fields, we understand personality, diagnosis, assessment and treatment in a way that is unique to our level of training,” said McCann. “MAPA provides a specialized opportunity for connection that psychologists cannot find in other professional societies. I look forward to exploring the ways in which Fairhaven, and my personal research, can contribute to the conversation surrounding mental health in the Greater Memphis area.”
